When you first transfer digital photos from the memory card in your camera, they usually need some tweaking. Most likely you’ll need to save them in a different format. While you may have captured the right number of pixels, the resolution is often set to a number that makes the printable size outrageously large. In those cases you can either resize or resample. This tutorial will cover all these scenarios. It also includes some scripts to help automate these processes.
Often when you are working with digital photographs, there are parts of the image you no longer want. With the multi-megapixel images taken by the latest digital cameras, you can crop and still have plenty of pixels left over for a high quality image. It is also helpful to rotate images to get exactly what you want in the photo's frame. This tutorial will cover several different methods for cropping and rotating.
