Some of you rely heavily on software that automates this process such as CorelTRACE. I feel very strongly that you will get a better quality result in less time if you do it using the methods described in this tutorial. Admittedly it will take more time until you get good at the process. And there will be some very complex logos for which the automated software will work better.
This tutorial walks you through four real-life scenarios of logos being converted from bitmap to vector. Each of these used different techniques that are described in depth. Techniques involving Bitstream Font Navigator, the Bézier tool, Font Expert, Fontlab, CrossFont, Smart Logos Pro, the Eyedropper tool and much more.
