Add a Longhorn Feature Now

If you are a Windows user, you've undoubtedly heard that Microsoft plans to release the next version—codenamed Longhorn—sometime in 2006. There are a number of new features that are planned. Some of them are deep within the system while others are more cosmetic. The good news is that some of the features can be added now with utilities that are freely available.
One of the most useful features is the desktop sidebar. It presents useful information on the side of your screen. Each of the panels can be updated so the information is customized for you. Some examples of the information you see are a clock, local weather for any city you choose, stock quotes, performance monitor, news updates, integration with Outlook and much more.
