Day One of PowerPoint Live
It has been a long day and I think there is still a session going on even though it is approaching midnight. There were definitely a lot of interesting things today.
The morning started out with a keynote from Microsoft about how design has changed in PowerPoint 2007. Oh boy has it changed! First, the interface is radically different. I didn't know how it would be accepted. For the most part, the crowd here has been very accepting. I'm sure part of that is that they were blown away by the increase in the quality of the design level in the default templates that come with Office 2007. Microsoft has definitely done their homework on design and should get an A+.
Each of the sessions that followed brought some great tips from the various gurus who are presenting. The afternoon finished with a crazy trivia contest, as always. Then we all went to the local Joe's Crab Shack for a dinner courtesy of Microsoft. Thanks Microsoft!
All in all, it was a good first day. I met a lot of new folks, learned some great new tips and saw some cool products on display from the vendors. Time to get some rest so I can do it all over again tomorrow.
