Whatever Happened to CorelDREAM 3D?

Corel has a habit of bundling a program in the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for several versions and then it just mysteriously disappears. Such was the case with CorelDREAM 3D. There were a variety of reasons that Dream is no longer part of the box and one of those is that Corel licensed it from another software company.

What most users don't realize is that the product they once knew as CorelDREAM was also sold separately as Ray Dream Designer. That product is also gone, but only because the name has changed when the product was sold to another company. Now the product is known as Carrara and it is alive and well at DAZ Productions.

Even more interesting is that DAZ is running a special promotion where you can get Carrara Basics for only $9. The offer ends at midnight EST on February 2nd, so time is very limited. This does require that you join the Platinum Club, but it also brings you savings on a number of other products. If you want a more powerful version of Carrara, those are also available at special savings.

If you were a fan of CorelDREAM 3D, you should definitely give Carrara a long look. For those who are looking for software to work in 3D, Carrara is definitely one of the products you should consider. There certainly isn't going to be a better price on Carrara than there is now.
