Compact Power for the Road

With all of the new travel restrictions, it gets harder and harder to pack a bag that meets all of the security and weight limits. Yet when you get to your destination, there never seems to be an easy place to plug in all of your gear.

Recently I picked up the Belkin Mini Surge Protector/Dual USB Charger as it is very compact and yet provides the power I need when traveling. It has room to plug in three cords, though admittedly you could only fit in two wall warts due to the spacing of the plugs. Even better, there are two USB plugs on the end where you can plug in USB chargers for cel phones, bluetooth headsets, MP3 players or anything else that comes with a USB charger. All of this in a package that is less than 7 ounces and the longest dimension is less than 5 inches. Remember, the size listed on the Web page is for the box, not for the product. I weighed and measured mine just to make sure the numbers were accurate.

So if you need some extra outlets when traveling (or even at home), give this little gem a try!
