CorelDRAW X4 Service Pack 2 Available for Download

Corel will officially release Service Pack 2 for CorelDRAW X4 next week. But you can download it now and get started on the new version now. If you'd like to learn more about what has been fixed, Gerard Metrailler has detailed it all in his blog.

Thanks for the posting that CDX4 Service Pack 2 is now available for download.

I did download it but it would not install and generates "Error 1321" messages galore after quite some time preparing files un-packing them, and what not.
(I fully observed the installation suggestions provided in Mr. Metrailler's log.)

Even though I run the WinXP Pro as administrator with full rights, I am told that the Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file: and there now come a multitude of files names that could not be installed.
Thus the entire process aborted! Yet the very same machine had no problems installing the original CDX4 and SP1.

I've had similar problems installing SP2 on one of my machines. On my laptop, I was able to install it but only after having to press Retry at least 100 times. I have reported my problems to Corel and they are trying to figure out what went wrong. Admittedly my impressions of the installation process are not very positive at this point.

Apart from the installation problems of SP2, I notice on this very web page the following ad:

$93 to $97
Corel DRAW Graphics Suite X4
OfficeDepot $96.95, TheNerds.net $92.99

Has Corel Corp. changed it's pricing? Now that's what I call good news for 2009!

The ads you see are posted automatically by Google and we have very limited control over what appears. Those prices lead me to believe they are talking about the academic version of CorelDRAW. It is great for students, but users are prohibited from using it for commercial purposes.

I had the same experience Giftmugs had. I finally got it to load but I lost the ability to view in wireframe and enhanced--those options just aren't there. Reinstalling the service pack didn't help. I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall X$.

David,

I had the same problems with the commands in the View menu disappearing. One of the programmers posted a solution on coreldraw.com, but Corel hasn't made it widely available in any way. So I've got SP2 and I've got the menus intact, but it was a very painful process to get there.
