Hump Day Hardware: Senseo Coffee Machines
I sometimes get a puzzled look from users as they arrive at the CorelDRAW Unleashed Boot Camp. They want to start their day with a cup of coffee and they don't see a full pot waiting for them. We definitely have coffee for them, we just brew it one cup at a time using a Senseo pod-based coffee machine. For many years we had a traditional pot of coffee and we found that we faced two types of classes. Either the users would drink a lot of coffee or they would barely touch it. If they drank a lot, the pot would be empty and it would take 15-20 minutes to have a new pot ready. Those who didn't drink much would leave a full pot cooking all day leading to a burnt coffee smell in the office. And I'll admit, it didn't taste that great either.
The Senseo coffee machine comes in three flavors: Basic, Deluxe and Supreme with prices ranging from $65 to $99. Each cup of coffee or tea will be brewed from a pod. You stick in the pod and push a button. Standard pods cost around 35 cents each. Some cost more, some cost less. But this allows each coffee drinker to get exactly the type of coffee that they desire. It also means you don't waste any coffee by pouring it down the sink. You only make the amount that you want to drink.
How many of you have a coffee shop habit? If you make it a habit, it will cost $4-5 a cup. Even if you use the Senseo half of the time you currently go to the coffee shop, it will soon pay for itself. And I think you'll find the coffee is just as good. I know that many of you probably depend on a few cups of coffee to keep the creative juices flowing in your workday and I think you'll find the Senseo machines will provide you with great coffee at a great price. I know that I drink a lot more coffee now that I have two Senseo machines than I ever did when I had to brew a pot of coffee.
