Bete Noir

Ever since the movie Jurrassic Park came out, I've been fascinated by fonts that had some sort of internal design element. Sometimes it is just a highlight that follows the outer curves and other times it is a more complex pattern. That is the case with today's font, Bete Noir. It contains a zig zag pattern within each character. According to the description it is a Retro font although I don't remember seeing anything like this in days gone by.

Bete Noir is retro in that it mimics the Art Deco style (1925-1940) linoleum cut artwork. This tends to have big areas of black and white, is often squared and geometric, and often moves to a sharp point due to the applied cutting of a bladed tool on the surface of the linoleum.
