Font Friday: Caslon Antique
Last week, John posted a comment and asked if I could suggest a font that would replicate articles from an old western newspaper. The font that I suggested at the time was Caslon Antique (shown at right). Many of you will recognize it as the font used for the Broadway show Les Miserables.
If you look around, there are other fonts with antique in the name. It simply means that the shapes of the characters have a few bumps and bruises on them. Caslon Antique is certainly the best known of the genre. Enjoy!
