Tutorial Tuesday: Drive Traffic to Your Blog

Today we're going to talk about a great resource for those of you who are blogging, those who may want to start a blog or anyone who deals with the creation of a blog. The tutorial in question is actually an e-book written by Dennis Gaskill. Dennis also goes by the nickname of Boogie Jack and he has written a number of excellent guides on HTML and other Web creation tips and tricks. And for those who may ask, no the e-book isn't free.

The e-book is titled Drive Traffic to Your Blog and it packs 50 pages with a variety of information that will help you to increase the traffic coming to your blog. You can easily read the book in a couple of hours, but it will definitely take longer to digest and implement the information included. I read through the book myself, made note of a few things I want to implement right away and I know I'll go back and read it again to glean more information.

One area discussed in the book is article marketing. This is where you write an article on a specific topic. While you may find it fun to write such an article, most people would find it even more fun if the article generated revenue. We all like to make money, right? One tool he recommended was Micro Niche Finder. This cool little utility helps you find niche topics to cover and ways to make money on that niche. Even better, there are five free videos that show how it works. All you have to do is provide your name and e-mail address.

Of course, that is just one small recommendation out of many. Most of the tips can be implemented for little or no cost. Some may take a little bit of time, but it is surprising at how little time it will take to add a number of the tips to your blog marketing arsenal.

Overall, you'll find Drive Traffic to Your Blog provides you with much more than your money's worth. Heck, Dennis is also throwing in another e-book, Writing Effective Blog Titles. You'll find the full listing of what is included on the e-books site.

The Weekly Graphics Unleashed Blog Schedule

I told you earlier this week that I would be making some changes to this blog. I've always felt that I didn't post often enough. When something came along, I'd write about it. I just think that I can give you more information on a more regular basis. In order to do this, I've put together a schedule for what to cover on each day of the week. Certainly if there is something really important that comes along, I'll have an additional post on a given day. I'm sure there will be days when I'm just too busy to follow the schedule. For now, my weekly schedule is listed below. I'll start following it on Monday, July 21.

Macro Monday: I'll discuss a useful macro for CorelDRAW and/or Corel PHOTO-PAINT. Heck, it might even be for other software if I feel that it would be useful for many of you.
Tutorial Tuesday: I will search high and low for a tutorial that will teach you something useful about graphics software. It might be something on the Graphics Unleashed site, it might be on another site.
Hump Day Hardware: The last I checked, we all use computers to help us create our graphics. Each Wednesday, I'll focus on a piece of useful computer hardware. It could be something really inexpensive, it could be quite expensive. As long as I feel it would be useful to you.
Thursday Tip: Sure, you'll already get a full-blown tutorial on Tuesday. I'll focus this post on one of those little gems that can take your productivity to the next level.
Font Friday: Does anyone ever have enough fonts? I just don't think it is ever possible to have too many. Early in my career I worked at a font foundry and had access to the whole library. Yet I still wanted more. Most of the time I'll feature a free font, but there may occasionally be a good one with a cost attached.
Weekend Widget: Just like fonts, there is always another useful utility out there. When I get a new computer, I know there are several must-have utilities I install. Some of them are freebies while others have a well-deserved cost.
Sunday Stock: I know you are always looking for clip art, stock photos, templates and more. Sunday I'll find some cool art to tell you all about. Again, some will be freebies, some will have a cost attached.

I'll also try to keep an archive of each subject. So if you want to see a list of all the fonts I've promoted, we'll have that for you.

What do you think of the schedule? Is there a major area I've missed that you would like covered? Over time I know there will be some changes, but I think I've put together a good mixture of topics that will appeal to all users of graphics software.

Site Updates, Blog Updates and More

Today I spent most of the day updating the home page of the CorelDRAW Unleashed site. Not only did I want the page to be visually appealing, I wanted to make sure it was easy to find the training product that best met your needs for learning how to use CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT. I'll be doing similar updates to the Graphics Unleashed site in the near future that are much more extensive. If you have suggestions for ways we can make either of the sites better meet your needs, please leave your suggestion in a comment.

There will also be changes coming to this blog in the near future. I haven't always been good at posting every day and I want to change that. I want to make sure to get you new information on a daily basis and possible to have multiple posts on a given day. One example would be to suggest a free font every Friday in a post. I'm making a list of other categories where I can provide you with examples on a regular basis. Again, I'd like your input. Post any of your suggestions in a comment. Not only do I want to provide information more regularly, I want to make sure it is the information that is most useful to you.

Subscribe to Blogs via Email

In the past few days we've added a nice feature to both the Graphics Unleashed and Jeff Harrison's Daily Diversion blogs. You can subscribe to either blog, or both of them, and receive an e-mail of the new posts on each day when a post appears.

If there is no new post on a given day, you won't receive any e-mail. If there are multiple posts on a day, you'll get one e-mail with all posts from that day. For users who don't want to deal with RSS feeds, this is a great way to keep updated on both of the blogs.

Subscribe to Graphics Unleashed via e-mail.
