By itself, CorelDRAW is a very powerful program. But it is lacking some of the features required by technical illustrators. EZ Metrics was created to fill that void. Now it just takes a few clicks to convert an orthographic drawing into axonometric drawings such as Isometric, two forms of Dimetric, and two forms of Trimetric. EZ Metrics also makes it easy to move and extrude objects in the third dimension based on the type of drawing you are creating. We are simply automating features that already exist in CorelDRAW. Functions that require a number of steps and lots of math are reduced to a single click. What this all means is that you will be saving time while creating some fantastic technical illustrations.
EZ Metrics isn't the only program of its kind, but it is the best. It's flexible, it's accurate and best of all, it's easy to use. You get the ability to create any type of axonometric drawing instead of just isometric. We've also added a bunch of features for tracking the transformations. With EZ Metrics 2 & 3, you can even go back to a previous stage. Each of the transformations requires only a single click. And as you can see in the image at right, the interface is very streamlined so that you can concentrate on your drawing! EZ Metrics supports CorelDRAW 7, 8 and 9 all in one program. EZ Metrics 2 adds more features and is the answer for those of you with CorelDRAW 10, 11 and 12! EZ Metrics 3 is the first ever plug-in for CorelDRAW and works in CorelDRAW X3, X4, X5 and X6 (32 and 64-bit versions)!
We know that with a technical tool like this, you want to know if it will solve your problems. So we encourage you to download the demo version and give it a test drive. We haven't disabled anything because we want you to put it to work. After you've tested it for 14 days, we're sure that you'll see it is worth much more than what we charge!
EZ Metrics uses Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to run. Some of you will find that when you click the EZ Metrics icon, nothing will happen. This is due to something gone wrong with your VBA installation. The first thing to try is to select Tools | Visual Basic | Play. If this works, look in the "Macros in" drop-down list for EZHelp. Select it. Now select EZModule.RunEZMetrics in the Macro name area and press the Run button.
If Tools | Visual Basic | Play was grayed out or the macro didn't work, there is definitely a problem with the installation of VBA. To do this, you must do a Custom Install of CorelDRAW 10. Deselect everything except Visual Basic for Applications. Once the install is complete, you should find that EZ Metrics works fine.
In some cases, VBA didn't install correctly. Go to the \Corel\Graphics10\Config\Redist\VBA6 folder on your CorelDRAW 10 CD #1 and double-click on vba6.msi. If you have VBA installed, it will be repaired. If you don't, it will get installed.
EZ Metrics has only been tested in CorelDRAW X6.0. Due to a Terms of Service Corel added after the initial release, we are not able to install the updates for testing.
