Whether you’re just playing around or you earn a living at it, Web design can be a lot of fun. There are also a number of pitfalls that you can run into as a new Web designer because basically you don’t know what you don’t know. A common mistake is that because basic imagery in Web sites are all bitmap-based you should only use a bitmap editor. And while, yes, the majority of your image editing will be in a bitmap editor, it doesn’t mean that is where you need to start.
This article will go through part of my design process when making Web sites. I will give a caveat by saying that just because this is the way that I go about Web design does not mean that it is the only way or even the best way to do things. It’s just the way I do them. So whether you’re just starting out or consider yourself an old-hat at all this, hopefully you’ll find this informative.
