There are many times when you want to draw objects of an exact size. You can do this by using guidelines or grids, but setting them up can sometimes be time consuming. Unleashed Shapes allows you to create Rectangles, Ellipses, Arcs and Pie Wedges of exact dimensions. Do you want a radius on your rectangle's corner? CorelDRAW makes you enter a non-intuitive percentage of shortest side. Unleashed Shapes allows you to use the same units as the rectangle itself. And since you'll be adding the radius when you create the rectangle, the corners will not be distorted.
The program is very simple to use. Enter the dimensions of the shape you want. Add a radius to rectangles or various angles to arcs and pie wedges. If you want a rectangle drawn then press the Draw Rectangle button. If you want an ellipse, press the Draw Ellipse button. When you are finished creating shapes, press Exit and you'll find the drawn shapes in the lower left corner of your page.
This program requires CorelDRAW 10/11/12/X3/X4 or later for best operation. This program will not run correctly under earlier versions of CorelDRAW (9 and below).
You have to have Visual Basic for Applications installed to run this program. You can run the VBA install manually by running the vba6.msi installation package from \VBA6 folder of the CorelDRAW 11 CD #1 or from \Corel\Graphics10\Config\Redist\VBA6 folder of the CorelDRAW 10 CD#1.
Copy the "unleashedshapes.gms" file to the "C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics11\Draw\GMS" folder for CorelDRAW 11 or "C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics10\Draw\GMS" for CorelDRAW 10. Note that this is the default location and it could be different if you chose a custom folder. Regardless of where you have installed CorelDRAW, there should be a \Draw\GMS folder and the "unleashedshapes.gms" file goes in that folder.
It is also suggested that you import the "unleashedshapestoolbar" workspace as it will give you a special toolbar with two icons for launching each of the components previously described. To do this, select Tools | Options and click on Workspace in the tree list at left. Press the Import button and browse to find the "unleashedshapestoolbar.cwf" file. It will be wherever you put it after unzipping the product. Press Next twice and then select "Current Workspace". Click Next again and then Finish to complete the process. You should now have a new toolbar as shown at right.
For those who don't choose to import the toolbar, start the program by selecting Tools | Visual Basic | Play. This brings up the dialog at right. In the "Macros in" drop-down, select "Unleashed Shapes" as shown. When you've done this, the macro will be listed in the "Macro Name" portion of the dialog. Select it and click the Run button. This is a lot more steps than the toolbar and thus our recommendation to use it instead.
The instructions for running Shadow Maker are covered in the installation section.
