The larger base unit is made of brushed 18/10 stainless steel, while the slightly smaller half is made of thick, durable glass and stores inside the metal half. Calibrations on the glass are in both metric and imperial. After ice, juice, and spirits are mixed, the shaker's two halves fit together and stay together by suction during shaking. A little twisting and pulling and the two halves come apart for pouring. The stainless-steel Loft strainer (available separately) comes into play at this point.
