Product Description
A deceptively simple-looking tool, the BoWrench is a boon for both professional deck builders and do-it-yourselfers. The BoWench gives you a fast, one-person way to straighten decking boards. This is great, because decking material--whether redwood, cedar, or another, more exotic rot-resistant wood--is often warped, especially in 14- to 16-foot lengths. To operate the BoWrench, you simply fit the tool on a joist, swing the lever arm, and release. You can either push or pull boards into alignment, and when the handle is perpendicular, the tool locks in place, holding the board securely and leaving you free to drive nails or screws. The BoWrench is better than toenailing. Burying nails in the sides of decking to close gaps works, but it gives water more ways to enter the decking, which eventually leads to rot. With the BoWrench, you'll save time, create a longer-lasting surface, and maximize material. Using the special cam attachment (sold separately), the BoWrench replaces the clumsy beater block as the best way to close gaps in tongue-and-groove plywood and paneling. --Jon Groebner

All of the plastic parts are an engineering grade glass filled nylon.The SoloSiders are the only tools on the market that allow you to change the overlap dimension in real time. When you side a house, one of the most important aspects
is to line up the siding evenly with the bottoms of the windows. Also the tops if possible. The pros actually vary the overlap to attain this. The only way you can do this with a siding installation tool (whether it works from the top or bottom) it has to be able to change the overlap dimension.
You cannot use less than 1-1/4 overlap on fiber cement siding which is code minimum, but you can sure
use more, and should. When using to install LP Smartside 3/8 thick, one inch is the minimum overlap, which this tool does. We provide overlap charts with these tools for every width of siding and in 1/16 increments. We ship via the USPS Priority mail, which usually takes about 2 days. It doesn't look like much, but it will amaze you with what it can do to a twisted 2-by-4. Its jaw end fits snugly around the offending 2-by lumber, and with relatively little effort on your part, it twists the turned wood into place, allowing you to nail with your free hand, keeping it well clear of the inbound fastener. It's pretty much genius, as far as we're concerned, and we've been told that once it's used, it's indispensable. The Tweaker is solid steel, and as such, it is not light to tote around.
