SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sept. 12, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced Adobe® Premiere® Elements 3.0 software for Windows®, a landmark upgrade to the No. 1 selling consumer video editing software*. The simplified interface and drag-and-drop simplicity of Adobe Premiere Elements enables users to easily add professional quality effects and enhancements, as well as output to a wide variety of devices and formats - including Adobe Flash® Video, the standard video format for popular social networking Web sites.

In addition, Adobe today announced Adobe Photoshop® Elements 5.0 software, a complete photo editing solution (see separate press release). Also available together in a single retail package, Adobe Photoshop Elements plus Adobe Premiere Elements delivers unique integrated functionality that provides consumers with the ability to do more with their photos and home videos.
“With sharing video files across Web sites such as YouTube, MySpace and Google Video now established as a pop culture phenomenon, Adobe Premiere Elements arms even beginners with the accessible tools to make their compositions stand out from the crowd,” said John Loiacono, senior vice president of Creative Solutions Business Unit at Adobe. “We've radically simplified the user interface in this version while continuing to add powerful editing features to ensure that anyone can quickly become a high-impact videographer.”
With its simplified user interface, Adobe Premiere Elements adds new, intuitive functions that allow consumers to easily edit their videos with creative freedom. Video files can be imported from virtually any device, including DV and DVD camcorders, HDV devices, digital still and mobile phone cameras, unprotected DVDs and MPEG-4 video recorders.
The new Monitor window allows users to edit and enhance in one convenient location. Drag-and-drop functionality makes it much simpler to add fun transitions, effects such as Picture-in-Picture and text that can be typed right in the Monitor window. The new Sceneline, an alternative view to the traditional Timeline, provides an easy way to assemble movies. Clips can be rearranged with drag-and-drop simplicity and viewed as thumbnails. Users can also tell their story in their own voice with narration, and create fun claymations and time-lapse movies with the new stop-motion capture function.
With a wide range of sharing options, Adobe Premiere Elements ensures that video creations can be shared with others. Consumers can create professional-quality single- or dual-layer DVDs with automatic scene indexes or chapters. Video files can be shown on virtually any portable device, including the Apple® video iPod® and Sony PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable), by exporting them in MPEG-4 format or Adobe Flash video file format.
Adobe offers products that meets the needs of every individual: Adobe Premiere Elements for the video enthusiast and Adobe Premiere Pro for the professional or advanced amateur videographer.
