The first available plug-ins - a PDF export and red eye removal tool are included in Xtreme, with many more on the way.

The integrated Xara Picture editor provides the most common photo enhancing operations such as cropping, rotating, color enhancing, sharpening etc, with a very fast, slick, interactive UI. The Xara Picture Editor is an integrated photo tool that can be used directly within Xara Xtreme or stand-alone. It provides a really simple approach to the basic photo editing needs (one-click enhance, anti red-eye, crop, brightness, sharpness etc), and also accepts both Xara and Photoshop plug-ins.

Web Graphics

Xara Xtreme is used by many web designers as their primary web graphics design tool. It can produce highly optimized GIF, PNG and JPEGs, mouse-over web graphics, animated GIFs and more.

Illustration and Design

Producing professional quality vector illustrations in Xara Xtreme is easier in Xara Xtreme thanks to its fast redraw and rendering speed (2 to 10 times faster than competitors. The comprehensive drawing tools incorporate many advanced features pioneered by Xara - such as real-time anti-aliasing, transparency and graduated transparency effects, real-time vector feathering, linked colors, zero-memory footprint bitmap editing, solid drag, resize, and rotation of images, all of which can be applied to both vector and bitmap images.

In their bid to dominate the world’s graphics market Xara have taken the dramatic decision to launch an Open Source version so that a Mac and Linux version of the Xtreme can be developed. The aim is to become a universal, mass-market, cross-platform tool.
