10. Remove the mask

11. Emboss the modified text.

12. Create a mask from the modified text.

13. Create a new object

14. Fill the new object with Bitmap Fill: NATUR01M.CPT

Recommended Variation:
Fill in Uniform Fill: White

15. Feather the new filled object by 20 pixels with linear edges

16. Select the original text object (Named 'Cactus; in the 'Object Docker' window) and apply a drop shadow

17. Change the background to Bitmap Fill: PAPER14M.CPT, or change background color to 'Sand'.

From an artistic and designers point of view:

A reader sent us a script that automates this effect. Download the script now!

Note that it tries to load a file from CD #1 and assumes this is your D drive. You may need to edit the script to change to the correct drive letter for your system. You need to place the script in the x:\drawfolder\photopnt\scripts folder. Replace x:\drawfolder with the appropriate path on your system.

Note also that the author, Austin Schibler, of this script is only 14! You can visit his Web site at http://afreak.webjump.com

For this particular image a brown, beige, sand or otherwise 'sand-color' looking background works the best. A wood background is also good. Good Bitmap fills are for example: BREADM.CPT, PAPER06M.CPT, PAPER14M.CPT

To change the background:

18. Combine all objects with the background

Ready, now if I could only find my Tequila bottle...
