In this article we are going to find out your printer’s capabilities and then apply this knowledge to produce a book cover and then add additional pages inside that booklet which is known as saddle binding. We also will be printing on both sides of the paper. An example is shown next where red is the cover and black is additional pages. After all is assembled then staple them together as they do in magazines. You can also glue them together. This article was written with CorelDRAW 9 and applies as well to CorelDRAW 10 and 11. The printers are based on those which are not full bleed units.
As I am a radio amateur (HAM) I send out a lot of QSL cards, which are the same as postcards, except they require a lot of information on the backside of the card and signed by my signature. This is proof that yes I did talk to that person in another state or country. Some amateurs have hundreds of these cards and are quite unique in their design. Postcards are designed in the same way and most are 5.5 inches by 3.5 in. We will be using the Duplex Mode to print on both sides of poster board material. This material is usually 22 by 28 inches, and if you cut it up you can get six, 8.5 x 11, or four 8.5 x 14 sheets.
