The ultimate CorelDRAW and Get CorelDRAW Unleashed
|
On-Site Boot CampWhen you have a group who all need to attend a Boot Camp, let us bring it to you! You can even customize the topics covered so that you get exactly what you want. Don't wait until later when you can start increasing the productivity of your whole graphics team now! |
The CorelDRAW Unleashed Boot Camp is the ultimate CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT learning experience. You will learn all the information you need to get the most out of CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT in three days of intense training at our training theater in Cave Creek, Arizona!
For those of you still using older versions of CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT, there is still a lot of great information to be learned. Yes, we'll cover some of the new features in CorelDRAW X4 so that you can see if the upgrade is right for you. But we also cover the features users of all versions need to increase their productivity.
All of this training for only $699! If your company sends two or more users, it is only $649 per camper! If you would prefer a Boot Camp in your office, we can bring the Boot Camp to you.
All of our training is done "hands off" so that you're not constantly waiting on someone else to correct their errors. We use state-of-the-art equipment and project onto a giant screen thereby allowing the students at the back of the room to see as well as those in the front. It's just as if you were looking over our shoulder. All this adds up to the fact that you will get more information in a shorter period of time so you can put it to use the minute you get back to the office. We've done over sixty boot camps so we have a very good grasp of the information users need and do our very best to get that information to boot campers
All classes are taught by Foster D. Coburn III. Foster has co-authored eight best-selling books on CorelDRAW and has taught thousands of users how to get the most out of their graphics at hundreds of seminars held throughout the world and through this Web site.
For those of you traveling from out of town, we can help you with all of your travel arrangements. Cave Creek is a very western town in the northern suburbs of Phoenix. The local hotspots include the Buffalo Chip, Le Sans Souci, El Encanto Mexican Restaurant, the Horny Toad, The Hideaway Grill, Tonto Bar & Grill, Cartwright's Sonoran Ranch House, Hammerhead Jack's Desert Beach Bar, Cracked Crab Steak and Seafood, Binkley's Restaurant, Cave Creek Coffee Company & Wine Bar, Harold's Cave Creek Corral and Satisfied Frog. Golfers will find Rancho Mañana a Tiger Wood's drive away from our office. We want you to not only learn, we want you to enjoy your visit!
Some of you may think the class is a long distance from your home. We've already had Boot Campers from 49 states (plus DC), 5 Canadian provinces, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, France, Iceland, India, Korea, Norway, Russia, South Africa and the UK. If you're curious, we're missing Rhode Island. There just isn't any other training like the Boot Camp and people travel from all over the world to learn CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT from Unleashed!
Our pick for the best place to stay during the Boot Camp is the Spur Cross Bed & Breakfast. It is about 1.5 miles away and features fantastic rooms at a special rate negotiated just for our Boot Campers. The closest is the Cave Creek Tumbleweed Hotel, about a mile away from our office. It is a small, but nice, motel very near our training facility. We provide details on these two places and a complete list of hotels, airline and transportation information so that you can start planning now.
Please let us know what you would like to learn and we will do our best to include what you want!

CorelDRAW X4 Unleashed Boot Camp AgendaThe agenda is currently being updated to incorporate the best new features in CorelDRAW X4 as well as features from previous versions that will give you the most productivity. We welcome your input for topics to be covered. Note that each day starts at 9 a.m. and ends around 4:30 p.m. |
Day One—CorelDRAW X3Creating Complex Shapes Easily: This session will go over the many techniques for using Weld, Intersect, Trim and Combine for creating complex shapes. Font, Font Management & Typography: One of the best parts about CorelDRAW is that it comes with well over a thousand fonts. Unfortunately many users aren’t sure how to manage all those fonts without wreaking havoc with their computer. This session will teach you all about fonts and how to have all your fonts available without any problems. ROMCat: You'll be introduced to ROMCat, the best tool for finding CorelDRAW clip art images. Color, Fills and Color Management: Process color, Spot color, pattern fills, texture fills and ICC profiles. These are just a few of the many things covered in this session. By the time we're done, you'll know about the many different types of fills, the best way to use them and the tricks for getting colors to match from screen to printer. For those who want bright pretty colors, you'll see how they can be printed and reasons why they don't print in some situations. Enveloping, Distortion and Bevels: We’ll cover all the different ways to use Envelopes to warp objects and then go over further distortions with the Interactive Distortion tool. You'll also see the new Bevel tool in CorelDRAW X3. Fitting Text to a Path: This is one of the most used effects in CorelDRAW and also one of the most frustrating to many users. After this session you’ll know the exact steps to do it right the first time, every time. Foster's Favorites: Some of the favorites we’ll cover are Customization, Page Sorter, Perfect Shapes, Smart Drawing Tool, Navigator, Text Wrap, Symbols, Snapping, and Dynamic Guides. Be prepared for a long list of tips guaranteed to improve your productivity. |
Day Two—Corel PHOTO-PAINT X3Masking Basics: Masks are the key to getting the most out of Photo-Paint. This session will take you through the wide array of masking tools. You'll also see various ways to modify your image once it has been masked. Working with Objects: While masks are incredibly useful, often they will be the basis for creating a floating object. Once you have an object, there are all kinds of options for further manipulation. We'll talk about opacity, clip masks, merge modes, lens, clip to parent, object transparency and more! Fixing Digital Photos: The explosion of digital cameras means that there are even more photos residing on computers that need to be fixed. In this session we'll go over ways to adjust the color until it is just right, we'll remove red eye and even help the photo's subject lose a few pounds. Automating Your Workflow: Oftentimes you'll have repetitive tasks that need to be applied to a large number of images. This session will first show you how easy it is to create a script that performs a series of steps. Then you'll see how easy it is to apply that script to a large number of images all at the same time. Channel Chops: Sure, masking and objects are useful. It is the special effects that really get everyone excited. You’ll learn how to create some great effects, how to use third-party plug-ins and learn of the way that scripts can take Photo-Paint to the next level. After this, you won’t associate channels with television anymore! Web Graphics: The vast majority of images on the Web are saved as some sort of a bitmap. We'll talk about JPEGs, GIFs, PNGs and ways to optimize in each format. You'll also learn the tricks for creating an image map or slicing an image to optimize it for download. Once we have the bitmaps all covered, we'll talk about exporting to SWF format for getting vectors on the Web. |
Day Three—Advanced TopicsScanning: Very few images are created completely from scratch. Many of them are scanned in from a print. What type of scanner do you need? What settings should you use? Just exactly what resolution should you use? What are the quickest ways to improve those images? These questions and many more will be answered. Converting a Scanned Logo to Vector: Sometimes clients just can't help but make your life miserable. They think a great way to supply a logo is as a tiny little thing on their business card. Or maybe they've downloaded the logo from their Web site. This session will show you the best method to convert that crummy bitmap logo into a fully-scalable vector logo. Importing and Exporting Files: A big strength of CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT is the huge number of file formats you can import and export. This session will introduce you to the most used formats and how best to use them. And there are some formats you'll learn should be avoided in many cases. Outputting Your Artwork: If it doesn't print, it's just a video game! Sure, more artwork these days is destined for a computer screen. But the majority is still headed for a piece of paper. This session covers the many settings in the Print dialog box so that you can get the best output from anything from an inkjet to an imagesetter. You'll also learn how easy it is to design one business card and have it print multiple times on one sheet. Publishing to PDF: PDF files are everywhere. They are one of the best ways to provide artwork to printers and a great way to put files on the Web. We'll go over the details of Publishing a PDF file directly from CorelDRAW and the options for doing it using Adobe Acrobat. Q & A: We'll finish up with a session dedicated to your questions. While we think that many will have already been answered, we save this session to answer questions that weren't covered earlier in the Boot Camp. |
